Grow Lights come in a variety of shapes and sizes. If you have an indoor garden you will choose from the main three
types of light bulbs.
High Pressure Sodium HPS
Metal Halide MH
Fluorescent Tubes
Your experience with grow lights should be a smart one.
Choosing the wrong wattage can effect your gardens ability to produce any type of harvest. Make sure you keep in mind the
amount of square footage your garden will be using. High Pressure Sodium and Metal Halide bulbs burn very hot so you
will want to consider some type of ventilation to remove the build up of heat if your garden is enclosed. Using a small fan
works well to move the air around your garden area. Using a thermometer to check the temperature of your garden is smart.
One of the worst things you can do to your garden is over heat it. Using Very hot lighting in a small area will not be your best choice to avoid too much heat, Some plants can will do quite well with temperatures above 100 degrees and others will not. The more information you have about the plants you plan to grow the better.
Why go through all the time and effort to set up a garden if it will only be ruined by something so easy to control. As we know High Pressure Sodium and Metal Halide bulbs burn very hot and in a few hours can destroy a garden completely.
Grow Lights
You will find many different varieties of grow lights when you
start shopping around. Grow lights also have many different types and shapes of reflectors to choose from.
Reflectors and mylar are very important if you plan on getting the most out of your lighting. Using reflectors simply gives you more
light output. Plants need light and the more light the better. Indoor gardening is really easy if you take the time to pick the right setup
for your grow lights.
How do you get the most from your grow lights.
This is very easy to achieve by hanging your mylar sheet around your garden. Make sure you keep them at least 6in away from your plants.
Hanging them to close will only block your lighting from reflecting back and forth to each mylar sheet around your garden. Grow lights will increase your plant growth.
