One problem with this system is that plants that are large or use large amounts of water will use up the nutrient solution
faster than the wicks can supply it to the plant. The Ebb and Flow system works by temporarily flooding the grow tray with a
nutrient solution pump and then draining the solution back into the reservoir. This action is sometimes done with a submerged
pump that is connected to a timer. When the timer turns the pump on, the nutrient solution is pumped into the tray.

Nutrients are very important
Your nutrients are produced from natural mineral deposits. They will provide all the elements your plants require for very vigorous plant
growth in a soluble, easy to use form (liquid, powder). These are the same elements you would find in some of the best organic soils
avaliable. In short, your plants are being fed nutritious food for super nutritious product.
When the timer shuts the pump off the nutrient solution flows back into the reservoir. Also known as flood and drain. You can set the
timer to come on several times a day, depending on the size and type of plants, and temperature and humidity and the type of growing
medium used. The flood and drain is a system that can be used with a variety of growing mediums. The entire grow tray can be filled
with rockwool, or any type of grow medium.
The roots can dry out quickly when the watering cycles are cut off. This problem can be relieved somewhat by using growing media that retains alot of water like rockwool, vermiculite, coconut fiber or a good soiless mix like a pro mix.
