You will provide greater lighting intensity with high pressure sodium lighting systems and metal halide lighting.High pressure
sodium lighting systems will produce a reddish orange spectrum which is the ideal choice if you want to encourage rapid growing,

Compact Grow Lights For Small Areas
High pressure sodium lighting systems are really number one and provide everything you need to start growing in your hydroponics garden
Compact units are hard to beat… bulbs, grow light reflector, ballast, socket assembly, lamp, and cords all in one neat package. Remember
you can always use one system and just switch bulbs when you change grow cycles. Using a conversion bulb allows you to use a HPS and a
MH bulb with the same light fixture.
Use good ventilation for smaller spaces
Until now, fluorescent lights have had a very low lumen output and have been just too long big and bulky to be of much use. The fluorescent
grow light was used for nothing more than starting seedlings. The new compact T5 full spectrum fluorescent bulbs have changed all that.
They are growing themselves in popularity for both propagation and plant growth. The lights are very energy efficient and extremely effective
especially when used in rows. While not quite as good as HID lights, fluorescent lights have a better color spectrum. They will produce less
heat when compared to any HID lights. This allows them to be placed much closer to the plants (just a few inches) greatly decreasing lumen
loss from the distance from bulb to the plant. All you need to do is plug the compact grow light in and away you go.
